U18 AAA Head Coach Announcement

The St. Albert Raiders are excited to announce that Geoff Giacobbo will assume the role of Head Coach for the U18 AAA Raiders in the 2025-2026 season.

Geoff is a highly experienced coach with over 30 years of success at all levels of hockey, including 11 years at the U18 AAA level. A valued member of our program, Geoff has a proven track record of delivering results and advancing players to future opportunities in hockey.

In his current role as Head Coach of the U15 AAA Sabres, Geoff has led the team to four consecutive Provincial Championship appearances, securing two championships. In 2023-2024, the Sabres earned bronze at the John Reid Memorial Tournament, and in 2024-2025, they captured gold at the Red Deer Fall Classic. In the 2019-2020 season, he served as Head Coach of the U18 AAA Raiders, leading the team to a 27-1-4 record and a North Division Championship title.

Geoff has been instrumental in advancing players to the next level. Under his leadership, eight Sabres players were drafted into the WHL in 2023, followed by seven more in 2024—bringing the total to 28 WHL draft picks since 2020.

Beyond his coaching success, Geoff has been widely recognized for his contributions to the game. He has been named AEHL Coach of the Year twice—first in 2019 as Head Coach of the U18 AAA Raiders, and again in 2022 with the U15 AAA Sabres. Most recently, in 2024, he was honoured with the St. Albert Raiders Coaching Excellence Award.

Geoff’s passion for the game extends beyond his own team. As a dedicated coach mentor, he plays a vital role in developing fellow coaches within the St. Albert Raiders program, ensuring continued growth and success across all levels.
