U15 AA Bears: Joel Andresen
The St. Albert Raiders are proud to announce Joel Andresen as Head Coach of the U15 AA Bears for the 2025–2026 season.
Joel’s experience, leadership, and player-first approach make him the ideal choice for this position.
Playing Career Highlights
Junior Hockey: Joel began his hockey journey with the St. Albert Saints in the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL). In the 2001–2002 season, he was named the AJHL’s Top Defenseman and selected as a First-Team All-Star. Joel also played 49 games in the Western Hockey League (WHL) with the Lethbridge Hurricanes
NCAA / CIS (USports) Experience: Joel played collegiate hockey at the University of Nebraska–Omaha (UNO), where he continued to refine his skills as a reliable, physical blueliner. In 2004 - 2005, he joined the University of Alberta Golden Bears and went on to win a CIS National Championship.
Professional Career: Joel’s professional playing career included time with the Victoria Salmon Kings in the ECHL and Füssen EV in Germany’s Oberliga.
NHL Draft: In 2002, Joel was selected in the 5th round, 157th overall, by the Los Angeles Kings in the NHL Entry Draft.
Coaching Career
Joel has been a coach within our program for the past seven seasons, most recently serving as an assistant coach with the U13 AA and U13 AAA Raiders programs. His coaching certifications include Coach 1, Coach 2, Checking Skills, Safety, and Development 1.
Joel’s experience across all levels of the game gives him a unique perspective and well-rounded approach to coaching. He is deeply committed to fostering skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship, all of which align with the core values of the St. Albert Raiders organization.
We are excited to welcome Joel into this leadership role and look forward to a successful and competitive season under his guidance.
U15 AA Blues: Peter Sinclair
Peter has been a dedicated leader within St. Albert Minor Hockey since 2012, consistently demonstrating a strong commitment to player development and team success. His ability to build competitive, cohesive teams has made him a respected figure within our program and across the league.
Coaching Accomplishments:
Led the Atom AA Barons to a Provincial Championship in 2019
U11 AA Barons to an EFHL Championship in 2022
Back-to-back NAHL League Championships with the U13 AA Stars in 2022 and 2023
Coca-Cola Classic Tournament: Championship 2023
Most recently led the 2024–2025 U15 AA Blues to a first-place finish in league standings
This upcoming season marks Peter’s fifth year coaching within the Raiders program and prior to this he spent nine years as a Head Coach and Assistant Coach on St. Albert Minor Hockey teams. He holds certifications in Development 1, Coach 1, Coach 2, Safety, and Checking Skills.
Peter’s leadership, experience, and proven results continue to be a tremendous asset to our program. We look forward to another successful season with him behind the bench, fostering growth, character, and competitiveness in our players.

The St. Albert Raiders are proud to share an important update for the upcoming 2025–2026 season: our program will now host two U15 AA teams. This adjustment brings our structure in line with Hockey Alberta's provincial benchmarks and ensures alignment with the appropriate percentage of players participating in the competitive stream.
