The St. Albert Raiders are thrilled about the latest addition to our team. Umberto Fiorillo will be joining the Association as the Director of Hockey Development. For the past 20 years, Umberto has served as Head Coach and Hockey Director at St. Edmund Hockey Academy, where he has made a significant impact on the development of student-athletes. He has also been actively involved in the local community, coaching his son's U7-U11 teams in STA and contributing to the development of the U18AAA Jr Oilers program in the program's inaugural season with Hockey Edmonton as the Chair, Hockey Development Committee. Umberto's extensive coaching background includes coaching AAA hockey with the St. Albert Raiders. He has served as Associate Coach of the U18 AAA Raiders for three seasons and Head Coach of the U15 AAA Sabres for three seasons. He has also worked as a Head Coach, Assistant Coach, Video Coach and coach mentor for Hockey Alberta. After his time with the Raiders, Umberto moved on to work as an assistant coach with the NAIT Ooks (ACAC), winning two league championships, highlighted by posting an undefeated record of 36-0 in the 2015-2016 season for the first time in 51 years in college hockey. He then joined the University of Alberta Golden Bears Men’s Hockey Team as an Assistant Coach, winning two Canada West Championships and winning the 2018 U Sports National Championship in Fredericton, NB in 2018. Six years ago, Umberto accepted the Head Coach position for Team Brick Alberta that participates in the highly competitive Brick Invitational tournament held each summer at West Edmonton Mall Ice Palace. In addition to his coaching roles, Umberto has worked as a skills coach for several teams within our association and as a learning facilitator for our program. Umberto currently resides in St. Albert with his family and remains dedicated to inspiring and mentoring young hockey players and coaches. We are thrilled to have him on board as we work to grow and develop our program.
